Minister received German and British Members of Parliament

Minister of Justice of the Republic of Croatia Mr Orsat Miljenić was visited by delegation of the Government and Parliament of German state Hesse, guided by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Justice, Integration and Europe Mr Jörg-Uwe Hahn on 20 June 2012.

Friendly and partnership relations between the two countries that intensively take place in all aspects of the bilateral cooperation were confirmed. Key topics at the meeting were the ratification of the Treaty of Accession in German Federal Parliament and possibilities of cooperation of the two judicial systems.

At the end of the meeting both parties expressed their belief in continuation of successful bilateral relations and cooperation on a traditionally high level.

On 15 June 2012 Minister Miljenić received Members of the Parliament of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

Most important topics at the meeting were the further implementation of judicial reforms in the light of the new judicial strategy with the aim of meeting all the benchmarks from Chapter 23 and key measures that Croatian Government and Ministry of Justice intend to implement in the area of the judiciary by the end of this year and in the first half of 2013.

The talks were also related to the expected ratification of the Treaty of Accession of the RoC to the EU in the British parliament and to the political, technical and financial support and aid that Great Britain is ready to offer to the Republic of Croatia throughout specific twinning project in the forthcoming period.
